Jeff Smith, founder and owner of Smith Inspections, grew up in the construction industry. As the son of a top custom home builder, Jeff had a hands-on education, learning all stages of the home building industry from the ground up. A framer and builder by trade, Jeff is also a decorated former law enforcement officer and a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

Jeff began his career as a professional inspector in 2007 and has performed hundreds of inspections for a number of top U.S. home builders including D.R. Horton, Perry Homes, Pulte Homes, Meritage, and David Weekley Homes.
